Xayah is no longer a stranger to the League of Legends community as this champion remains a hot pick even at this point. With her high damage output and excellent kiting ability, along with Rakan, Xayah has become a very popular choice and boasts a solid win rate (around 55% in ranks from Platinum and above).

However, Xayah is not an easy champion to play. When appearing in League of Legends: Wild Rift, players need to practice thoroughly before taking this Vastaya into ranked matches.

First and foremost, Xayah is a quite strong champion in the Dragon lane. She has an immense damage potential, good wave clear, and most notably, she is one of the ADCs with crowd control capabilities, even if the duration isn’t very long (if all three feathers hit the same enemy, they will be rooted for 1 second).

Weaknesses

Firstly, like all other ADCs, Xayah has an extremely “squishy” health pool, and secondly, she lacks mobility. Although she can kite opponents to death, if she gets caught in crowd control or isn’t well-protected by her Support, Xayah can evaporate in just one combo. This reveals her third weakness: she is highly dependent on her Support, especially Rakan.

Additionally, Xayah does not have a particularly long attack range, so when building items, she always needs the Rapid Firecannon to compensate for her shortcomings.

Items and Runes

Xayah is an ADC, and certainly, the items she needs will be damage-dealing ones. Infinity Edge and Blade of the Ruined King, along with Galeforce, are almost mandatory.

As mentioned above, Xayah lacks attack range and is easily caught if the enemy can dodge her root and has hard crowd control. QSS (Quicksilver) and Rapid Firecannon are two items that are essential for Xayah, especially since she is not very tanky to stand close to enemies and deal damage. Moreover, we must also consider situations where Supports get caught before team fights, so Xayah needs to have self-saving capabilities before relying on her teammates.

Guardian Angel will be the late-game item to help Xayah survive longer in team fights or, if caught out, buy time for teammates to come to her rescue.

The appropriate rune setup for Xayah would include Conqueror and Gathering Storm to help her deal a significant amount of damage. You can consider either Nimbus Cloak or Giant Slayer, but in most cases, Nimbus Cloak is preferred, simply because it provides more maximum health and has enough slow resistance.

Sweet Tooth will help Xayah sustain in lane better, providing a large amount of gold and increasing the healing ability of Health Packs.

Xayah is a champion that requires high skill, both in using abilities and positioning. Therefore, practice a lot with this champion before taking her into ranked games to achieve the highest effectiveness.
