Cultists
For many players, 4-cost champions like Olaf, Tryndamere, or Kayle are still incredibly powerful in Teamfight Tactics. Therefore, they continue to pursue building compositions around those units while overlooking a super strong team-comp called Cultists. This causes the Cultist team, which has already been significantly buffed by Riot, to become even more dominant as the competition for these units is rarely contested.

Another strength of the Cultist team is that you can “pivot” to this composition at any time. At all price levels from 1 to 5 gold, there are Cultist units available. As long as you roll into a Cultist Chosen, you can successfully construct this composition. This means that the Cultist composition is not dependent on a specific champion at this time and is very hard to counter directly.
Rangers – Spirits
Similar to the Cultist team, the Rangers – Spirits composition does not utilize the currently popular 4-cost champions. Therefore, players rarely find themselves competing for key units with opponents. You may face a bit of difficulty in upgrading Yuumi to 2 stars since this unit is purchased quite often. However, aside from that, building the Rangers – Spirits composition is relatively easy, and you can even upgrade Teemo and Tristana to 3 stars early on.

If you want to build the Rangers – Spirits composition, it is recommended to combine strong defensive items, especially the Zz’Rot Portal for Diana. The reason is that this composition does not have a strong tank unit in the mid-game. Therefore, you should take advantage of the backline jumping effect from the Assassin trait and turn Diana into a tank with the Zz’Rot Portal. This will significantly reduce the damage your key units take with this item combination.
Illuminators
With continuous buffs in recent patches, the Illuminators composition, especially Talon, has become much stronger. With two 4-cost key units, Morgana and Talon, the Illuminators composition is rarely contested for important units in the current version. This allows you to upgrade your 4-cost key units to 2 stars quite early. However, this composition has a critical weakness: it is heavily countered by overly “tanky” team-comps.

Therefore, to effectively operate the Illuminators team, players need to carefully observe the compositions of others. If you see too many people using Guardian or Vanguard compositions, it is advisable to abandon the Illuminators team, as Talon cannot single-handedly take down these “tanky” lineups. Aside from that situation, using the Illuminators composition is currently an extremely effective way to rank up.
