Recently, the Western League of Legends community has been outraged to see Riot Games “turning a blind eye” to cheating accounts that have climbed to the top of the world’s League of Legends Challenger rankings.
Looking back, Riot Games allowed players from all ranks to flex up together. This enables many to enjoy climbing ranks casually with friends without worrying about rank disparities as before. Conversely, many players exploited this loophole to cheat thousands of LP points to reach Challenger.

More specifically, the leading Challenger accounts in the current global flex queue are all cheating in one way: using a Challenger account to climb ranks alongside 4 Iron accounts. This allows them to only face opponents with ranks from Platinum to Gold, Silver – which is very easy to win compared to the Challenger rank.

At first glance, this action seems to fall under the category of “if not prohibited, then allowed” in League of Legends, so it’s hard to consider it a violation of any rules. However, the community views it as cheating because all four Iron accounts frequently throw games when playing solo in order to lower their hidden elo as much as possible. When playing with the main account, they will “smurf” (the skill of a Challenger with Iron accounts).

This has infuriated many players, as they have reported Riot Games multiple times but still feel ignored by the “music company” that doesn’t care.
