Losing to Rogue Warriors was indeed a difficult pill to swallow for Suning and their fans, but that is now a thing of the past. With their unpredictable performance, the Lion fans still had plenty of reasons to believe in a positive outcome against JD Gaming.
But in reality, SofM and his teammates achieved much more than just a win; they utterly annihilated the former LPL champions with a score of 2-0.
Throughout the two games, SN completely dominated JDG. In Game 1, Bin was “let loose” on Camille, and in Game 2, it was SofM’s turn with Lee Sin, combined with a flawless draft from the SN coaching staff, bringing Malzahar back into the competitive scene to counter JDG’s two assassin setup.
The result was that Kanavi found himself utterly helpless as SN maintained a lead throughout Game 1. In Game 2, it was simply a “total annihilation” of this team against an opponent considered to be tough.
With this victory, SofM and his teammates have resurrected their image from the 2020 Worlds season, where they successively defeated both JD Gaming and Top Esports on their way to the finals. In the 2021 LPL Summer, these two teams once again fell victim to SN.
The win against JDG helps SN maintain and strengthen their position on the leaderboard, securing a favorable stance in the race for playoff spots. And after this match, once again, SN fans joked that “maybe SN is less afraid of facing championship contenders than teams at the bottom of the table.”
