Despite being continuously buffed in recent patches, Fiora still seems to fall short when compared to other carries in the Challenger team. Particularly in terms of her ability to “carry the team” and utilize the Challenger effects, Fiora appears significantly weaker than Yone. Therefore, some players have discovered an alternative way to effectively use Fiora by combining this unit with Sorcerers and Guardians instead of wasting resources on Challenger units.
For example, a Teamfight Tactics player known as IronG has continuously “spammed” the Fiora combined with Orianna composition for the past 3 days and has successfully climbed to Challenger rank. The idea behind this composition is to leverage the damage buff from the Idol, the protection from Orianna, and the Sorcerer units to equip defensive items for Fiora. The result is a Fiora that is hard to take down while still dealing massive damage in the late game.
When starting with this composition, you should look for units like Camille and Blitzcrank early in the game to activate their traits. For example, you can also add Warwick and Quinn to activate the 2 Challenger effect or Ziggs and Ezreal for the 2 Recycler effect. These will help you maintain health very well before reaching level 5.
Moving into the mid-game phase, Taric and Lulu are two essential units as they activate the Sorcerer system along with significant magic resistance and healing. You can also use Zilean during this phase to provide attack speed for Warwick, the main carry in the mid-game. At this point, players should aim to maintain as much health and gold as possible to level up consistently.
After reaching level 8, you need to find at least 3 key 4-cost units including Fiora, Orianna, and Braum. Fiora will serve as the main damage dealer while Orianna acts as a secondary carry providing shields to multiple allies. Meanwhile, Braum will be the main tank unit and provide significant crowd control. Additionally, Janna and Seraphine are also valuable units (even at 1 star) as they provide good healing and help Fiora and Orianna survive better.
In terms of technology cores, upgrades that provide extra gold such as Wealthy Merchant and Bountiful Harvest are ones you should grab immediately. These cores will help players quickly reach the 50 gold mark and level up much faster. Additionally, upgrades that enhance damage and stats such as Power Surge, Technological Augmentation, Idol’s Heart, and Unification are also recommended choices.
When it comes to building items, you need to combine at least 2 defensive items for Fiora including Guardian Angel and Quicksilver. With Orianna often using 2 Chalices of Power and being positioned on the Idol space, Fiora’s damage output is already substantial. Therefore, 2 defensive items are the best choice for this unit, while the third item can be a hybrid item like Giant Slayer or Hand of Justice, which is the most reasonable choice for Fiora.
