What does the future hold for Gumayusi in the remainder of Regular Seasons 2025?
After a tense first two weeks facing 3 out of 4 direct competitors for spots in MSI 2025 and Worlds 2025 as well as the title in Regular Seasons 2025, T1 will have a relatively “easier” week before facing Dplus KIA. However, even with opponents like Nongshim RedForce and BNK FEARX, T1 cannot afford to be complacent. But there is one factor that concerns fans even more: Gumayusi’s future.
Last week, T1 announced that Gumayusi needed time to recover his spirit and skills. But clearly, everyone understands that the issue with Gumayusi is T1’s decision, not his professional ability. Therefore, fans will wait to see if Gumayusi will play this week.

Next, the challenge lies in the fact that both of T1’s opponents are hardly comparable to the champions of Worlds 2024. For example, if Gumayusi does play and wins both matches, no one can say if that will be enough for T1’s management to end the roster rotation. Conversely, if Gumayusi loses, it is very likely that these will be his last matches before MSI 2025 concludes.
Furthermore, if Gumayusi does not play, no one can know when this player will return. The early phase of Regular Season 2025 is nearing its end (likely concluding in the first half of the group stage). After that, if T1 is in the top 6, they will compete for a spot in MSI 2025. But if Gumayusi only returns at that time, the pressure on him will multiply as it will be a critical phase, and any misstep will mean no chance for a comeback.

Alongside T1, both HLE and Gen.G will have “easier” matchups this week, and the likelihood of these teams maintaining good form is very high.
