After the first two days of competition in the MSI 2022 Group Stage, G2 Esports was the team with the most impressive performance. They defeated both RNG and T1 in the first round and easily secured the top position in the standings with four consecutive wins. With outstanding performances from all positions, G2 Esports was a formidable opponent during the first two days of MSI 2022.

However, their stellar performance made people unintentionally forget G2 Esports’ “comedic” nature. Thus, on the third day of the Group Stage, G2 Esports reminded everyone of their “circus” nickname with two consecutive losses against PSG Talon and RNG. Both defeats followed the same script: G2 chose a composition that lacked teamfight capability, leading to their self-destruction in the mid-game.

In both games today, BrokenBlade was tasked with the responsibility of “carrying the team” with two strong champions: Aatrox and Riven. However, as mentioned earlier, the lack of teamfight initiation made it impossible for BrokenBlade to shine against PSG Talon or RNG. He could have had plenty of items, but without the ability to engage the enemy, it was all in vain. Perhaps G2 is trying to experiment with BrokenBlade as a carry, but the outcome has been a failure.

As for RNG, this victory has helped them rise to the top position in the MSI 2022 Group Stage standings with five wins. If they continue to maintain their high performance, it wouldn’t be surprising for RNG to hold the top spot until the end of the Group Stage. The story in the remaining two days of competition will likely revolve around whether G2 or T1 will secure the second position.
