Recently, after the conclusion of VCS Spring 2022, there were rumors about a new organization joining the upcoming VCS Summer 2022. However, at that time, it was merely speculation. The VCS community could only guess that this team was related to whales, based on some circulating information.

Recently, the “main character” of the story, the team itself, has spoken up about the matter. Specifically, the team that will participate in the upcoming VCS Summer 2022 is Team Whales. However, according to this team’s confirmation, Team Whales from Vietnam’s League of Legends is completely unrelated to the team of the same name in Malaysia that previously invested in the PUBG Mobile game.

According to the information that Team Whales has shared, this new team is 100% invested from Vietnam. Additionally, this team aims to achieve the highest goal of securing titles when competing in the professional League of Legends arena.

To realize this goal, it is highly likely that Team Whales will feature a roster of several talented players. Currently, in the Global Contract Database of Lol.fandom, former members of Luxury Esports are listed in the Team Whales lineup. Additionally, Arrietty, the former AD Carry of Saigon Buffalo, is also part of this new team.

According to the Global Contract Database, Team Whales will consist of players from LX and include some new names, most notably Arrietty - former AD Carry of SGB

With the upcoming Team Whales roster possibly including former LX players, as well as adding some new names, this team is sure to attract a lot of attention from the VCS community. Not only because they are a newcomer to the VCS, but viewers also want to see if this team can achieve its set goals.

Currently, there is no specific date for the official start of VCS Summer 2022. However, at this point, the tournament is highly anticipated by the Vietnamese League of Legends community. Especially as some teams like GAM Esports and Saigon Buffalo are very strong, while SBTC Esports and potentially Team Whales are likely to become challengers to the top teams in the near future.
