Although the third week of the LCK Summer 2022 has not yet concluded, we have already witnessed the biggest surprise as KDF defeated T1 with a score of 2-1. This is something that no one expected since KDF had shown a relatively unstable performance and was positioned in the lower half of the standings. Before defeating T1, this team had only one victory after two weeks of play.

To talk about the player who had the most impact on KDF’s recent victory, we cannot overlook Teddy with his surprising pick of Ashe. He even played like a Support and allowed Hoit’s Seraphine to farm while still creating significant plays. In the post-match interview, Teddy shared that predicting T1’s movements greatly helped him use Ashe effectively.
Question: Did facing former teammates help you use Ashe better?
KDF Teddy: Honestly, Keria has an incredible ability to read the map, so he’s very skilled at roaming, especially to the Top Lane. He’s great at supporting teammates across the map, so I predicted that Keria and T1 would roam to the Top Lane a lot. When Keria and the T1 team started to move, I used Glacial Prison aimed at the Top Lane. It hit Gangplank, and we gradually took control of the game from there.
In fact, I believe I need to use Ashe more because this champion has such strong tools for map control and initiating fights.

If you remember, before playing for KDF, Teddy spent three years with SKT T1 and later T1. During that time, Teddy played alongside Keria throughout 2021, so he understands T1’s playstyle and team dynamics very well. Teddy utilized this knowledge effectively to catch T1’s key players in the recent match with some incredibly precise Glacial Prisons.

Of course, Teddy and KDF should not celebrate too early as they still face another strong opponent, Gen.G, in this third week of play. This is a completely different opponent compared to T1, so KDF needs to really push themselves to secure a victory and maintain hope for a position in the upper half of the standings.
