In the recent “media war” match between T1 and KT Rolster, during game 3, Faker and his teammates made a surprising choice. Specifically, in that decisive match, T1’s Gumayusi used the marksman champion Zeri, who had just been reworked and is currently quite strong. However, instead of the usual summoner spells like Cleanse or Heal, Gumayusi’s Sivir opted for Ghost combined with Flash.
Previously, in game 1, Gumayusi also played Sivir with a similar summoner spell choice. And this playstyle proved to be incredibly effective.
But perhaps, not many people know the origin of this “Speedy Marksman” playstyle in the professional arena. According to some information, this playstyle was introduced by marksman Able in the matches of Oh My God during the LPL Summer 2022.
And T1’s Keria also admitted that this team watched high-level League of Legends matches in China and learned this playstyle. Keria revealed that he saw Able using Aphelios with Ghost and showed the clip of that match to his teammate Gumayusi. According to Keria, the combination of a marksman with Ghost, alongside the support champion Yuumi, would be even more effective.

Perhaps many people, especially Faker’s fans, still remember. It was Able who had issues with Faker back in Spring 2022. Specifically, the first person Faker complained about during ranked matches in Spring 2022 was indeed Able. The subsequent incident between Faker and Qingtian was just the “last straw” that sparked controversies about the lack of seriousness in ranked play on the Korean server.

Additionally, Able is also known for many “quirky” playstyles. Specifically, he has even used Ezreal with Ability Power in professional matches. Able’s career has not yet seen many accolades in terms of titles, but it cannot be denied that he is a very talented player in the League of Legends scene.
Of course, there will still be much debate about whether Able is indeed the player who “invented” this playstyle in the professional arena. But it can be said that this playstyle has proven effective and may be adopted by many other teams apart from T1 in the future.
