On October 9th, the finals of the Arena of Glory Winter 2022 took place at the Military Zone 7 Stadium. This match day included 2 BO7 matches, the Losers’ Finals with a showdown between V Gaming (VGM) and BOX Gaming (BOX). The winning team of this match would move on to face Saigon Phantom (SGP) – the “king of the domestic league” in the world of Arena of Valor.
The VGM team excellently defeated BOX in a swift match with a score of 4-1. In fact, when entering the Grand Finals, VGM was even leading SGP 3-0 after the first 3 games of the BO7 series. However, with the spirit of champions, SGP delivered an exceptional performance in the next 4 decisive games. SGP’s 4-3 victory also marked the first time a champion of the Arena of Glory came from behind after being down 3 games.

Congratulations to SGP for becoming the Champions of the Arena of Glory Winter 2022. How do you feel right now?
We are very happy. There are no words that can accurately describe the feelings of the Saigon Phantom team right now after achieving an incredible comeback.
Can SGP share a bit about the strategy that helped your team come back against VGM in the recent matches? Especially since you were down 3-0 and no team has accomplished this feat?
There is no strategy more reasonable than our mindset at that moment. After being down 0-3, the whole team played with a do-or-die spirit and felt extremely relaxed. I think this was the strongest strategy that helped SGP defeat VGM.
SGP went through a very tough match to bring home the championship trophy of Arena of Glory Winter 2022. What do you think is the most memorable moment from this Grand Final and the Arena of Glory Winter tournament in general?
Perhaps it would be this Grand Final. We just created something incredible together by winning 4 consecutive games to claim our 5th championship.
According to you, would the result be easier if the opponent was BOX?
I don’t think facing BOX in the finals would make things any easier as they are a team with a lot of unpredictability and determination. However, whether it is VGM or BOX, we are always ready to face them with a mindset of having nothing to lose.
