GAM Risks Early Exit at MSI 2025

Although they have secured a spot at MSI 2025, GAM's journey will undoubtedly be challenging.

GAM participates in MSI 2025, but it will not be easy to go far

With the new formats, every major tournament in professional League of Legends seems to be getting tougher, and teams can find themselves in a situation with no way out. Recently, the mid-season matches in the APAC region concluded, with two spots for MSI 2025 going to CFO and GAM. However, only CFO is in a safe position as they will participate right from the Play-In stage as the number 1 seed from the APAC region. Meanwhile, GAM has dropped to the Play-In stage, and the journey will be extremely difficult.

GAM has qualified for MSI 2025, but the draw is not easy.

Specifically, 2 out of 3 of GAM’s opponents are G2 and a team from the LPL, with the remaining opponent being the top team from the LTA South region. Among the 3 opponents, perhaps only the representative from LTA South is “manageable” for the Vietnamese League of Legends representative. Both LPL and G2 are very strong, and especially if G2 performs at their full potential, the VCS representative simply stands no chance.

Meanwhile, considering the 4 teams still competing for a spot at MSI, there is no name that can be seen as easy for GAM. WE is in good form, and BLG and IG have always shown strong performance this season. The most inconsistent team among the 4 names is AL, but their roster still includes quality players (Flandre, Tarzan…) and it will not be easy for GAM to create surprises like they did against TES.

The possibility of GAM being eliminated early is very high

It must be said that GAM’s performance against TALON and CFO is commendable. However, in the 3 games they lost, GAM’s opponents completely dominated them. Especially in Game 5, one could even feel GAM’s “suffocation” right from the start of the match, with surprising bans and picks from the PCS representative.

VCS fans also find it extremely challenging for GAM.

Teams like G2 or a true representative from LPL will be much stronger and more unpredictable than CFO. Therefore, GAM’s journey is also highly uncertain, and if they slip up, the possibility of the VCS representative “getting eliminated” right from the start of the tournament is entirely possible.
