When describing the careers of players, Deft perhaps epitomizes the term “struggle.” This player began his professional career in February 2013 but had only reached the semifinals of Worlds twice. Many even suggested that Deft should retire 2-3 years ago when his performance declined.
However, Deft continued to put in his utmost effort and never stopped striving in every match. After nearly 10 years of relentless competition, Deft has finally secured the most prestigious title, the championship of Worlds.
Sharing after the match, Deft stated that this title is the dream he has had since the beginning of his professional career. He also shared about another dream of becoming the best player, but once he achieved the title of Worlds champion, that no longer seemed so important.
“This world championship is my biggest dream since I started playing. Finally, it has come true thanks to the unwavering support from my teammates and the DRX coaching staff. I once had another dream of becoming the best player. However, that no longer matters now that we are the strongest team and have achieved this championship,” Deft shared.
DRX and Deft’s championship at Worlds 2022 truly represents a “Miracle Run” in every sense. They had to compete from the Play-In Stage, facing formidable opponents and winning the championship in an emotional manner. Congratulations to Deft once again for achieving the title he has long dreamed of.
