On April 8, Gen.G impressively defeated KT Rolster (KT) with a score of 3-1 in the Losers Finals of the LCK Spring 2023 qualifiers. This result secured Gen.G a spot in the Grand Finals and the remaining MSI 2023 ticket for the LCK region. Gen.G’s upcoming opponent in this crucial match will be the familiar name – T1.

Fairly speaking, KT is a strong opponent and Gen.G had to struggle to overcome this team. In fact, in the first game, Gen.G was even defeated by KT. After the match, player Peanut stated that competing on a big stage had caused Gen.G some psychological issues, leading to their loss in game 1. However, Peanut also believes this is an advantage for Gen.G in the upcoming match against T1.
“Competing on a big stage caused us some psychological issues, which led to our loss in game 1. After that, the whole team got used to the atmosphere in the arena and became much more confident. Regarding the upcoming match against T1, I think Gen.G has the advantage of having gotten used to the atmosphere at the arena, so we won’t face psychological issues. We will utilize every advantage, no matter how small, to defeat them,” Peanut shared.

With an important match like the Grand Finals of the LCK Spring 2023, the skill gap between the two teams is very small. In this case, psychological factors will play a crucial role in influencing the final result. In this regard, Gen.G has a slight advantage as they have already gotten used to the stage during the Losers Finals.

However, Peanut may have momentarily forgotten that T1 boasts an experienced player who has performed on the biggest stages, named Faker. Therefore, the psychological advantage Gen.G has may not be as significant anymore. Perhaps for Gen.G to defeat T1, they will need to seek other methods instead of relying solely on a slight psychological advantage.
