One of the most mysterious situations that the community is currently anticipating in the VCS is the case surrounding SBTC Esports. Of course, at this point, it can be confirmed that SE is involved in some negative issues as this team has already posted a message directed at the VCS organizers and Riot, hoping that the authorities will soon announce the investigation results to clarify the team’s future.

Recently, according to some circulating information, the VCS organizers and Riot had to seek the assistance of Sportradar to conduct an investigation into the matter. For those who may not know, Sportradar is a Swiss company specialized in researching and analyzing sports data worldwide. Notably, Sportradar has extensive experience in warning against negative activities related to sports leagues through the Universal Fraud Detection System (UFDS) – a system dedicated to detecting fraud.

Moreover, for those involved in mainstream sports, it is well known that Sportradar has partnered with numerous major and minor sports leagues around the globe. Notable examples include the NBA, World Cup, Olympics… In Vietnam, Sportradar is also familiar to those who regularly follow football, as this company has partnered with VPF and VBA (Vietnam’s professional basketball league).

However, if Riot and the VCS organizers truly have to resort to Sportradar for the investigation, it can be understood that SE’s troubles this time are quite serious. Perhaps there are demands that exceed the authority, preventing Riot or the VCS organizers from intervening. As commentator Hoàng Luân previously noted, resolving SE’s case may require assistance from the police.
Additionally, some viewers have recalled previous incidents that caused a stir, such as the PHT scandal of OverPower Esports or the Zeros case. However, in those instances, the VCS and Riot took swift action. In fact, the Zeros case, which had serious implications, did not drag on as long as the current situation.

However, as of now, the VCS organizers, Riot in Vietnam, or Sportradar have yet to make any announcements regarding this matter. But it seems likely that the results of the investigation will be available soon, specifically after the VCS Hoàng Hôn 2023 concludes. This is because all parties need to ensure that the players and teams are in the best spirit for the ASIAD tournament as well as the 2023 World Championship, which will take place right after.
