Faker Faces “Shock” as He Joins the North American Server
Recently, players from teams qualified for MSI 2025 have started to “land” on the North American server to practice and acclimate to the competitive environment of this important tournament being held in Canada. However, the North American server is notoriously filled with toxic players or those who ruin games, and the skill levels may not match the rank. Just recently, Faker had some “unforgettable” experiences on this server after playing his very first ranked match.

Accordingly, still using the champion Annie, which once helped T1 dominate the HLE team, Faker continuously fell and ended the match with a KDA of 1/7/3. Meanwhile, he didn’t even manage to take down Aurora, the mid-lane opponent, at any point. Not only Faker, but his entire team also “fed uncontrollably” which was the main reason for their defeat in the ranked match.

But Faker Quickly Adapted Right After
Nevertheless, after the devastating loss, Faker quickly regained his familiar form and secured five consecutive wins. Notably, he returned to using Zed and Jayce in the mid-lane and achieved dominant victories. Of course, everything will depend on the opponents and the meta. But with the Fearless Draft mechanism, Faker himself needs to prepare more than just a champion pool centered around a few playmaking names (Ahri, Galio, Sylas, Azir…) as he currently has.

T1’s journey in MSI 2025 is considered quite challenging, even though they are currently viewed by the media as top contenders for the championship, following their devastating victory over HLE in the recent Road to MSI match. More than anyone, Faker understands the harshness of MSI and will surely want to reclaim this title, as it has been nearly 10 years since he last lifted the trophy at this tournament.
