T1 is the “most” in MSI history
After a tense BO5 match between Gen.G and T1, the MSI in Canada concluded with the reigning champion Gen.G taking the win while T1 secured the runner-up position. However, for many T1 fans, this MSI season is considered acceptable. Indeed, when the 2025 Regular Seasons began, few would have dared to think T1 would make it to MSI, with two giants, Gen.G and HLE, still in the mix. Yet, by the final game of the grand finals, T1 became the most “challenging” League of Legends team in MSI history.

Accordingly, T1 in MSI 2025 is the only team in history to have played 5 BO5 matches throughout the tournament, with 4 out of those 5 matches going to the final game. Admittedly, the matches against CFO and AL featured a rather easy Game 5 for T1, but it cannot be denied that T1 played significantly more matches than the average in the tournament. They even had to play 3 consecutive BO5 matches over 4 days – a schedule that can be described as quite brutal.
The BO5 format in the playoffs is not new, but historically no team has played as many games as T1. Even the former SKT T1 has never experienced such a grueling pace in a tournament like MSI.

T1 has many upcoming tournaments to “regain what was lost”
First, there will be EWC 2025 – a tournament where T1 is still the reigning champion. With a large prize pool and the intense nature of the matches, the potential for underdog teams to cause surprises remains very high. Last year, Gen.G was eliminated by TES right in their first match, so T1 cannot afford to be complacent, despite their strength. Especially, EWC 2025 will see the addition of HLE, another giant in the League of Legends scene.

Therefore, if T1 can win, it will be a “remedy” for their fans who have just gone through an MSI that was only acceptable but not truly satisfactory.
