With an opponent not too difficult like OKSavingsBank BRION, of course, T1 players did not miss the opportunity to continue their experimental strategies before the tournament takes a break for the Lunar New Year. And in the afternoon of February 3rd (Vietnam time), Faker and his teammates brought out several new combinations such as Caitlyn – Lux or Senna – Sion. There were quite a few bumps throughout the two matches, but overall, T1 achieved a devastating victory, and the OKBRO players also had the right to hold their heads high as they fought with all their might and showed some noteworthy potential, especially in the young Bottom Lane duo making their debut in the LCK.

What’s noteworthy is that despite these matches being about defending their ranking while experimenting with strategies, T1 still played with the highest determination. Except for the second match which tended to be “content-focused,” the first match showed how devastating T1’s star players could be when they were determined to win. Of course, this will not be a pleasant experience for the young players on OKBRO. However, they will gain a full view of the harsh LCK environment – something that certainly cannot be compared to LCK Challengers.

Moreover, according to many opinions on social media Reddit discussing the match, T1’s “champion testing” also adds to the excitement of the tournament in particular and the League of Legends community in general. Everyone knows that for many reasons, the biggest being performance, teams rarely dare to use “off-meta” champions. The pressure from public opinion when experiments fail can crush the morale of players, especially young stars. In the LCK, things will be much harsher than in other regions. Therefore, there have been many opinions suggesting that the tournament is becoming boring for viewers as only a few champions are frequently used.

However, in the hands of some T1 members, certain champions made a comeback and showed impressive strength. This was the case for Zac, used by Zeus in the Top Lane role. Throughout the match, despite having a champion that tends to dive into the enemy team, Zeus only went down twice, securing one kill and nine assists. Notably, Zac’s damage output was over 25k – alongside Faker, he was one of the two players with the most damage in the entire match. Notably, Faker’s Taliyah was a multi-target damage dealer.

Many fans hope that T1’s influence will affect other teams, forcing them to make changes in their quest for the championship. The LCK Spring 2024 group stage is only halfway through, and there are certainly still many unexpected developments to come.
