The FVPL Spring 2024 finals held on March 31st took place at an offline venue with fans returning after 5 years, featuring the top 3 teams after months of intense competition: ProGamer (PROG), The Four Musketeers (T4M), and SevenTV (STV).
After 5 years returning to a venue with fans, the FC Online Vietnam Pro League (FVPL) Spring 2024 boasted a vibrant atmosphere as if it had never been interrupted, with fans filling the stands and loudly cheering for their favorite teams. The excitement provided extra motivation for teams to execute outstanding strategies to win. With match durations that resembled real-life games in renowned football stadiums, online coaches were no less competitive in guiding their players, showcasing dramatic strategies from each team, and the overwhelming roar of fans when their favorite teams triumphed.
FVPL is held annually with fierce battles among international-level online football teams, showcasing sharp tactical arrangements. This year’s prestigious FVPL Spring 2024 tournament officially kicked off in mid-February 2024 and identified the top 3 teams competing in a thrilling final: ProGamer, The Four Musketeers, and SevenTV. One of them will become the new champion of this new era, especially as the reigning champion DIH Esports was eliminated after the knockout stage. The total prize pool exceeds 660 million VND.
However, unlike previous years, this will be the largest tournament in the country following the rebranding event of FC Online. Along with this, there are numerous personnel changes and the emergence of new faces in the gaming community. These changes aim for freshness and creative development.
Reviewing the champions in recent seasons, in FVPL Spring 2023, the dominating players of ProGamer showcased their strength by claiming the championship with a lineup including Nguyễn Vũ Anh (Bae), Nguyễn Thanh Tú (Djokovic), Lê Anh Tuấn (Disaster), and Lương Tùng Anh (Lieta). In FVPL Summer 2023, the team DIH Esport (formerly TOM) clinched the championship title.
After the winners’ bracket finals, ProGamer defeated T4M to advance to the championship finals with a score of 3-0. In the losers’ bracket finals between SevenTV and T4M, T4M triumphed over SevenTV with a score of 3-0 to reach the championship finals. Entering the grand finals, ProGamer and T4M once again competed for the championship title, with T4M making a comeback from the losers’ bracket, maintaining a strong fighting mentality.
Concluding the match with a score of 3-2, T4M dramatically defeated ProGamer. The dark horse kept their promise, leading the audience to chant their name as the Champions. From a team without recognition and stepping onto the FVPL stage for the first time, they have now become the new champions of Spring 2024. A new era has begun, a new champion has emerged, The Four Musketeers with a lineup including PhanLam, NgocQuang, VietAn, and ThanhDat are the “New Kings of the New Era”, the championship of FVPL Spring 2024 has helped their teammates win 150 million VND in tournament prize money. Additionally, ProGamer achieved the runner-up position in the FVPL Spring 2024 season, earning a prize of 100 million VND. Notably, both the champion and the runner-up will represent Vietnam in the international arena at FC Pro Masters alongside teams from South Korea, Thailand, and China.
