As we know, currently, teams have gathered in Chengdu to prepare for the MSI 2024, which will officially begin in less than 12 hours. This year’s MSI sees teams putting in more effort into a tournament that usually doesn’t get much attention, as Riot has implemented numerous changes to the event. One special aspect is that the champion of MSI 2024 will immediately qualify for the 2024 World Championship, provided they reach the playoffs of the upcoming Summer Split. Of course, as the defending World Champion and the runner-up of the 2024 LCK Summer Split, T1 is a strong candidate for this year’s MSI championship.

Recently, a piece of information has shaken the League of Legends community, especially in China. Specifically, T1 dined at a restaurant. The subsequent bill revealed that it was quite an expensive meal. However, what is concerning is that afterward, the chef of the restaurant posted on social media claiming he could poison T1 and sabotage the team if he wanted to.

“Information suggests that T1 dined at a restaurant and the bill circulated. Rumors say the whole team dined very lavishly. The chef claimed on SNS that he could poison and ruin the whole team if he wanted. Chinese fans were outraged to see this post and immediately reported it to T1”

Immediately, the post caused an uproar among LPL fans. Many opinions have sent the article to T1’s management, demanding immediate action to protect the players. For those who may not know, before the Spring Split began, T1 had also been involved in a food poisoning incident. Among the members, Faker was the most severely affected. Therefore, fans definitely do not want anything to happen that would impact the fair competition of the players.

Not to mention, although T1 is a rival, joking about such matters is really over the line and could even backfire on the LPL’s reputation with the international community. Currently, according to some updates, the post has been deleted, but many LPL fans managed to screenshot it and expressed their outrage at the inappropriate joke made by the restaurant chef.

For their part, T1 has not made any official statements yet, and presumably, the health of the players remains stable. On the opening day of MSI 2024, T1 will face Estral Esports – a relatively easy opponent. Faker and his teammates are also expected to quickly pass through the Play-In stage, and the matches here will likely serve merely as tactical experimentation.
