The Power of the Kobuko – Lucky Claw Playstyle

In version 14.10 of TFT, Kobuko received a small but significant buff from Riot Games. Specifically, the maximum energy of this unit was reduced by 10 points, allowing Kobuko to save 1 basic attack to charge energy and cast abilities more frequently. This has significantly increased Kobuko’s damage output and survivability, as the unit can cast abilities frequently and heal a lot of health.

Furthermore, when combined with the Lucky Claw core, the above buff significantly increases this unit’s damage output. As a result, Kobuko currently (with the Lucky Claw core) meets both the requirements for survivability and damage output. This allows players to maintain a lot of health even when on a losing streak while using the Fortune composition.

Not only that, this playstyle also allows players to have many strong options in the late game when Kobuko has taken on the tanking role. Players can aim for ranged carries like Kai’Sa with the traditional Marksman – Brawler composition or Lillia with high Mythic thresholds. Players can even use the 6-8 Brawler threshold to capitalize on the strength of Sylas or the Scholar trait.

Building the Kobuko – Lucky Claw Playstyle

In the early game, players should try to purchase all Kobuko units from the shop if they appear. Additionally, low-cost yet quality Brawler champions like Rek’Sai or Aatrox are also excellent options. For backline champions, Fortune units like Teemo and Tristana will be optimal choices to activate the 3-unit synergy with Kobuko. A small tip to increase the chances of receiving the Lucky Claw core is for players to place all available Kobuko units on the board before transitioning to stage 2.

Similar to rerolling 1-cost champions, players will not purchase experience to maximize the chances of obtaining Kobuko. After achieving this condition, players will use the surplus resources from Fortune to level up as quickly as possible. The 4 Brawler threshold will be prioritized at this stage to optimize Kobuko’s survivability and damage output.

In the late game, players should aim to build another carry to ensure damage output for the composition. The units to be chosen include Kai’Sa, Lillia, or Sylas, depending on the items players receive. If the match extends to the point where players reach level 9, Irelia is also a very powerful option.

Equipment and Technology Core

Regarding equipment, items that provide a lot of armor/magic resistance such as Dragon’s Claw and Thornmail are essential for Kobuko. For the third item, players can choose between adding healing (Redemption) or increasing damage (Giant Slayer). Along with the Lucky Claw core, upgrades like Gemstone Inlay, Pandora’s Box, and Mythic Forge are all very compatible with this playstyle.
