On the afternoon of August 3rd (Vietnam time), T1 faced off against Gen.G once again in a match during the LCK Summer 2024 group stage. Prior to this match, T1 was on a winning streak, having defeated strong teams like KT Rolster and Dplus KIA. Therefore, in this match against Gen.G, T1 was also expected to end their losing streak against the reigning LCK champions while breaking their opponents’ unbeaten run. In reality, T1 was close to gaining an advantage, but Gen.G remained sharp, and the timely performances from Chovy and Peyz helped Gen.G secure a 2-0 victory.

In this match, the duo of Chovy and Peyz achieved two new records. First, Peyz became the first marksman and player to reach 1000 kills in the shortest time in LCK history. Additionally, on the same day, Peyz also accumulated 1000 POG points, leading the POG rankings for the LCK Summer 2024 group stage. Notably, Peyz also achieved 1000 assists in this match. It can be said that the Gen.G marksman stole the spotlight in this game.

Accompanying his younger teammate, Chovy also achieved another “Flame Horizon” milestone in the game where Gen.G seemed to be losing to T1. Specifically, before entering the final team fight, Chovy had a minion difference of 101 compared to Faker. Notably, T1 had been leading for most of the match. This highlights Chovy’s exceptional farming ability even when Gen.G was facing difficulties.

With their current form, the chances of Gen.G being defeated seem almost impossible, at least in the LCK Summer 2024 group stage. Especially, Peyz and Chovy are in a very high mental state. It can be said that this duo is the key to Gen.G’s quest for the title this summer.
