2021 Xgaming Student Esports Championship Officially Kicks Off

A national tournament for all university and college students across the country

On March 15, the Vietnam Entertainment and Esports Association (VIRESA) in collaboration with the Vietnam Cable Television Corporation (VTVcab), publisher VNG, and sponsor Viettel Media officially announced the largest Esports tournament of the year for students nationwide called: the 2021 Xgaming Student Esports Championship.


Taking place from April 3 to April 18, the 2021 Xgaming Student Esports Championship is the first major tournament of 2021 organized by VIRESA. This is a great opportunity for students from various universities to interact, compete, and promote the Esports movement within the community.

Regional Qualifiers

Teams will compete across three regions to select the best representatives to advance to the Finals in Hanoi.

Central Region: April 3-4, 2021, in Da Nang;

Southern Region: April 3-4, 2021, in Ho Chi Minh City;

Northern Region: April 10-11, 2021, in Hanoi;

National Finals

Scheduled for April 17-18, 2021.

Representatives from schools that win in the Regional Qualifiers will compete to determine the champion.

Additionally, the organizers announced two official game titles for this tournament, which are PUBG Mobile and League of Legends: Wild Rift. These two games have a large number of players in the student age group, along with the opportunity to win hundreds of millions of dong in prize money, the tournament promises to showcase fierce and intense competitions among the best players from various schools.



With Esports becoming an official medal event at the upcoming SEA Games 31, the 2021 Xgaming Student Esports Championship will not only serve as a platform for interaction and competition but is also expected to be a selection ground for seeds to represent the Vietnam team in the regional arena. This tournament will also mark a significant advancement for Esports within the Vietnamese gaming community, serving as motivation and a foundation for larger-scale competitions in the near future.

Each athlete is allowed to register for only one game.

After registering at the link, athletes/teams must complete the VIRESA membership registration procedure.
