Zeus admits T1 has been self-sabotaging all season long
After Worlds 2024, most teams and players will take time to rest and prepare for the new season, including contract negotiations and looking for new homes… Therefore, players will also limit their streaming. However, as the reigning champions of Worlds 2024, fans are eager for T1 members to “go live” and share more intimately and closely than the past season. Moreover, 2024 is expected to be even more turbulent than 2023, so the emotions of T1 players after successfully defending their championship title are of even greater interest.

Recently, Zeus was the first name from T1 to speak out about their experiences during the past season. Notably, Zeus candidly admitted that T1 had indeed “self-sabotaged” by trying to execute lane swaps from MSI 2024 until nearly the end of Summer. “T1 always struggles with lane swapping. We always find it difficult to understand how to swap lanes. It was the same from MSI to Summer. Then we realized that lane swapping had to be done by the whole team, not just a few individual members. We didn’t even bother to research or understand it much. But when it came to Worlds, we knew we had to continue lane swapping and worked very hard on it,” Zeus shared.

Zeus also implicitly affirms T1’s strongest playstyle
Zeus’s remarks also pointed out: only when T1 thoroughly understands and finds a suitable playstyle for themselves can they truly compete effectively. With many unpredictable factors in the roster, it would be a waste to force T1 to rigidly follow the meta. T1 in Spring 2022, Worlds 2023, or Worlds 2024 still followed the meta but creatively formed their own effective paths.

Furthermore, lane swapping according to the meta completely nullifies T1’s strengths. Therefore, it is understandable that players struggle to execute it. Importantly, they have timely recognized the problem and addressed it, turning weaknesses into strengths and ascending to the championship. These are the characteristics of a team built to conquer titles.
