Zeus’s Insight Contrasts with the Majority of the League of Legends Community
After two matches in the winners and losers brackets of LCK 2025 last weekend, it seems that most viewers share a common opinion: Gen.G will once again be the team to challenge HLE’s strength in the finals, aiming to reclaim the LCK throne. In reality, while the match between HLE and KT was quite one-sided, the Gen.G versus T1 matchup was not only more thrilling but also showcased a significantly higher level of play. However, Zeus may not think so.
Specifically, while many, including industry experts and Peanut, believe Gen.G will have an easier path to the finals, Zeus shared, “I’m not really so sure. But I think KT will be the team to win again and move forward.”
Zeus believes KT will advance against Gen.G.
In the earlier match between Gen.G and KT, the telecommunications team achieved a surprising victory. This loss forced T1 and HLE into a crucial clash, and subsequently, T1 continued to fight for a spot at Worlds 2025 against DK. Gen.G’s defeat also contributed to T1 dropping to the fourth seed, putting the LPL representatives in a position where they had to “fight tooth and nail” against the team known as the “hard counter” of League of Legends in China.
But in reality, Zeus likely also hopes for the LCK title
In his debut LCK season as a T1 player, Zeus quickly secured an LCK title after an unbeaten streak that surpassed even the “predecessors” SKT T1 of 2015. However, from that point until before joining HLE, Zeus’s T1 team had not found glory in the domestic league again.
The last time Zeus won the LCK was Spring 2022.
His high regard for KT might be due to Zeus not analyzing too deeply, but it could also stem from a desire to once again ascend to the peak in the highest League of Legends tournament in Korea. Compared to Gen.G, KT is clearly a much more “breathable” opponent, as HLE demonstrated by overcoming them just last week.
