As we know, one of the players who received the most criticism after T1 lost to Gen.G in the 2024 LCK Spring Finals was Zeus. While Kiin played one of the best matches of his career, it is clear that Zeus’s drop in form also contributed to Kiin’s stellar performance. Throughout all 5 games, it seemed that only in the 2 games T1 won did Zeus somewhat showcase his true abilities. Even when playing champions like Aatrox or Gwen, Zeus appeared completely harmless.

In fact, Zeus’s performance also dragged down TheShy into the criticism. Zeus’s KDA in the 2024 LCK Spring Finals was extremely poor (2/18/24 over 5 games). No one could see the image of the young player who was crowned at Worlds 2023 and also won the MVP of the finals. Recently, Zeus even had some individuals send a truck to T1’s headquarters to criticize him. The content displayed on the truck listed Zeus’s performances in recent LCK finals with some truly dismal statistics.

However, this time, the majority of T1 fans see this action as increasingly abused and an overreaction from a portion of uncivil fans. The statistics from these matches completely overlook the times Zeus had to “carry the team”, or the moments when Zeus “shut down” a series of superstars like Bin, 369, or TheShy. In fact, it was Zeus himself who completely neutralized both Kingen and Doran in two crucial playoffs for T1 in the losers’ bracket.

On the other hand, some T1 fans are looking at it from a more positive perspective. Back in the Summer 2023, two other core players of T1, Oner and Gumayusi, also received trucks. Gumayusi even received countless harsh comments to the point that many neutral fans or T1 anti-fans were outraged on his behalf. However, subsequently, in the Worlds that followed, this duo performed exceptionally well. In fact, Oner teamed up with Faker to form a Jungle-Mid duo that obliterated every formidable opponent, from Tarzan-Scout to Kanavi-Knight, ultimately claiming the championship at Worlds 2023.

Of course, no one wants these reckless trucks to become a means of mental harassment towards players after a season where they faced numerous difficulties. But if Zeus can “turn criticism into motivation” like his two teammates and seniors, T1 might have a very strong Top Lane at the upcoming MSI 2024, possibly even better than the “Thunder God” at the recent Worlds 2023.
