Zeka Shares Thoughts on HLE’s Loss to DK
Recently, HLE defeated DK in the first match of the “Orange House” during Week 7 of the LCK 2026 Rounds 1-2 group stage. This victory not only helped HLE maintain their winning streak and solidify their top position, but also served as “revenge” for their loss to DK in the winners’ bracket of the EWC 2026 LCK qualifiers just over a day earlier. However, for Zeka, HLE’s loss might have been a necessary factor in their journey this year.

In a post-match interview after defeating DK, Zeka stated: “Honestly, after losing in the EWC qualifiers, I thought, ‘we lost at a time when we were bound to lose.’ During last week’s practice, I felt our draft strategy was not smooth, especially our 4th and 5th picks. Ultimately, after losing to DK, we reset our strategic picks. Looking back, I think that defeat was a stepping stone to further improvement.”

HLE’s Defeat Could Be a Necessary Factor
In a long season, it’s impressive for a team to maintain an undefeated record, showing their dominance over others. However, experiencing defeats, especially against direct title rivals at certain times, can have a positive effect. It not only brings the team “back down to earth” but also helps them identify areas needing improvement.

HLE is not yet the strongest, unbeatable team, so their loss to DK in the EWC 2026 qualifiers is understandable. In fact, immediately afterward, they beat DK in a match where their opponent used the same “secret weapon” champion that defeated HLE in the EWC match a few days prior. This shows HLE’s strength and, more importantly, their ability to learn from their own mistakes.
