Alongside the unexpected championship title at the World Championship by T1, the 2023 season also marked the resurgence of several names that once dominated the LoL scene, such as Rookie and Uzi, who both had brief moments of brilliance while playing for Edward Gaming. However, nothing compared to the spectacular transformation of TheShy. Initially seen as a contract meant for “branding”, TheShy and the stars of Bilibili Gaming made it all the way to the finals of the 2023 World Championship. They only fell to an overpowering T1, but TheShy can leave the tournament with pride after giving it his all.

After the season, along with not having to compete in the LPL Spring 2024, TheShy also had moments of relaxation. Especially during the recent Lunar New Year, he had the opportunity to travel on a luxury yacht with his close friend Rookie. It is well known that TheShy and Rookie have been close since their time at Invictus Gaming. In fact, there were many reports suggesting that any team looking to recruit one of them would also have to take the other. It was not until the 2022 season that this duo separated, allowing TheShy to join Weibo Gaming.

However, an unfortunate accident occurred when TheShy was using a jet ski. Despite having rescue personnel with him and wearing a life jacket, he fell directly into the sea. The recorded clip, although not very clear, shows that TheShy was rescued in time. Nevertheless, it has caused considerable concern among fans, and the incident has been reported by LPL media.

For those who may not know, TheShy was previously involved in a dangerous accident while out with friends one late night. The aftermath left him with a severe injury to his arm, impacting the performance of the top laner competing in the LPL. Many believe this injury contributed to the rapid decline in TheShy’s performance.

Accidents at sea can be even more life-threatening. And surely no fan wants TheShy to encounter any more incidents that could affect his career or even his life as the 2018 World Champion.
