Perhaps at this moment, there’s no need to say that the achievements of VCS teams at the World Championship (CKTG) 2023 are truly beyond expectations. While GAM convincingly secured a spot in the Swiss round, Team Whales’ two comeback victories also thrilled international LoL fans. The achievement of “Whales” is even more impressive as 3 out of their 5 members are experiencing their first time at a World Championship.

Of course, not only the players but also TW’s achievements must be credited to the significant contributions of the coaching staff, with head coach Yuna – one of the most experienced and senior coaches in VCS. Additionally, as previously mentioned, TW has a very special advisor – none other than SofM. As many know, SofM was the head coach of the Vietnamese LoL team at the recent ASIAD, and among the team members, there are 3 from TW along with 3 from GAM.

Naturally, SofM’s advisory role cannot override the authority of the TW coaching staff who have been with the team for a long time. Moreover, SofM himself admitted that the first credit should go to the TW members, while he only provides advice and does not interfere with TW’s professional aspects. However, that is more than enough for LPL fans. In a recent post where SofM was hanging out with BLG players, many LPL fans sent requests hoping SofM could “work part-time” for BLG throughout the Worlds 2023 tournament.

– I said SofM has no work in Korea now, so why not discuss the possibility of joining BLG part-time, SofM? I think you’re very good at drafting.
– Please come back soon, SofM! I’m looking forward to seeing you in a coaching role.
– Leave SofM13 behind. He has a lot of experience at Worlds, has smart drafting skills, and good jungle skills. He is also close to many team members. Please relay this message to SofM!!!

Of course, at this moment, SofM will probably only chat with familiar players like Bin or ON and cannot interfere with BLG’s professional aspects. But who knows, in the near future, SofM might join a VCS team or even an LPL team to start his coaching career.
