In fact, Faker’s nickname “Chairman” is not only popular among Vietnamese fans, but it has also become quite well-known in South Korea. Although Faker has repeatedly clarified that he is just a “minor shareholder” of T1, not the “Chairman”, even Teddy – Faker’s close teammate, has started calling him Chairman and occasionally jabs at him by saying: “He is the chairman, who here would dare to argue with him? We wanted to eat fish, but Sang-hyeok insisted on meat, so we had to concede.”

Over time, Faker has also admitted that “being called Chairman is quite… nice”. Joking aside, in reality, Faker is indeed the number one priority in T1, but in a more humorous and positive way.
Faker himself always receives the greatest respect from his teammates, due to his greatness and character, more than for his position as captain or T1’s “golden boy”. Recently, he again had the chance to “show off” in front of his teammates, clearly demonstrating his “Chairman” status in a rather humorous situation.
In the post-match interview after T1’s victory over SANDBOX, the reporter asked the T1 players to quickly play Rock-Paper-Scissors. Faker lost the first two rounds, and then he decided to… keep his hand as rock.
Realizing the implication of the “Boss”, the other T1 players also automatically “conceded” by throwing scissors, and no one dared to throw paper. In the end, Faker became the Rock-Paper-Scissors champion in T1’s internal showmatch tournament without having to do anything, truly a different level of Chairman.
The reactions from the puzzled to the “resigned” faces of T1 players witnessing their captain “playing around” in the literal sense: “Who dares to beat him, let him know!” made the fans laugh heartily.
Even after “losing” in Rock-Paper-Scissors, Canna and Ellim showed clear signs of “discontent”, while Faker smiled because after being teased as the Chairman for so long, having a reputation without a tangible victory, he finally got to assert himself with his teammates.

After their loss on the opening day against DragonX, T1 has now secured three consecutive victories to continue chasing the top position in the LCK Summer 2020. Currently, Faker and his teammates are ranked 4th with 3 wins – 1 loss, a score of 7-4, tied with Gen.G Esports.
