In the history of League of Legends, which has now spanned over 14 years, and also 13 years since the first professional League of Legends tournaments emerged, many highs and lows have occurred. There have been teams that rose to the peak only to fade away, while others have managed to maintain their throne through the years with records that remain unbroken. It may be very difficult to pinpoint a name as the “Best League of Legends Team in History” without sparking controversy. But if we had to identify the worst name, the audience would certainly point to: Vaevictis Esports.

When mentioning Vaevictis Esports (or VE – one of the rare all-female teams that played in a professional League of Legends tournament alongside men in official Riot competitions), people immediately think of the team’s rather… difficult-to-discuss achievements. With their highest rank only reaching Diamond, it’s no surprise that VE is often regarded as a point farm. In fact, throughout the two seasons of 2019, they failed to secure a single victory, losing all 28 matches. Among these, their most significant loss was a staggering score of 2-52 against VG. This led to VG being penalized immediately for unsportsmanlike conduct.

Additionally, many fans may still remember that VE also had internal drama when members were dissatisfied with their teammates’ performances. A notable incident was when TR1GGERED publicly blamed the entire team, especially teammate Ankote, for her poor performance. Not to mention, male colleagues also showed a lack of respect for VE. The ROX team was once banned by Riot, which penalized all five members for their uncivilized trash talk directed at the VE girls.

Established as a protest against the bans imposed by Riot in the LCL region, VE’s ending was not truly beautiful. They disbanded after a long period of poor and hopeless performance. At the same time, all video clips of VE’s matches were erased. Information about this team now resides only in articles and the memories of fans who once followed their journey.
