Kayn truly has a very strange fate in League of Legends, debuting as a jungle assassin but mostly played as a fighter. While other champions become strong with just a slight buff, this guy has been continuously strengthened (11 times) yet still remains weak. Recently, when he was considered somewhat stable and causing a stir in the meta, it wasn’t Kayn in the jungle but rather… top lane. In short, this grim reaper has had a very rocky journey trying to survive in League of Legends.

Recently, he encountered a catastrophic bug that allowed his W from the lag corner of the Nexus to deal damage across the entire map. In fact, this champion had faced a W – Shatter damage bug before, but after patch 10.10 released and fixed it, for some reason, that bug returned and locked the champion across all servers. Then, in patch 10.12, it happened… again.
Remember a few weeks ago when a similar bug occurred with Ornn, leading to over 3,000 players in China being banned for abusing it? However, the problem is that this situation is still ongoing on the Vietnamese server and has caused significant outrage within the League of Legends community. Encountering the bug means facing players who deliberately exploit it to climb ranks or annoy the opposing team in URF mode. Some players even “guide” how to position Kayn in the only lag corner and call it a joy.

While some are happy, many players on the Vietnamese server are questioning what Riot is doing as the Kayn bug significantly impacts match results. Although this is a deliberate tool bug rather than a normal League of Legends error, players “abusing” this tool bug to climb ranks rapidly is wrong.

Although Riot will definitely punish accounts using this bug severely, waiting for that moment is driving players crazy. The most widely known victim on the Vietnamese server happens to be “Vu Ca” QTV, a once-legendary League of Legends player who simply streamed like any other day but then was killed by some invisible force. Reviewing the replay of the match, QTV bitterly realized that the enemy’s Kayn was using W – Shatter from the Nexus, dealing damage across the map.

The noteworthy point here is that this is not just happening in Vietnam; the Kayn tool bug has spread to many other servers around the world. In some places, people have to “live with the flood” by buying full armor and standing at the Nexus to prevent dying.

Hopefully, Riot will soon find a thorough solution to this issue, as well as eradicate all bugs related to Kayn so the community can play the game with peace of mind. Or at least for now, lock Kayn once again.
