Recently, the publisher of League of Legends in Vietnam – Garena, officially announced the temporary disabling of the “Automatic Ranking Down for Inactivity” feature starting from July 8. This is not the first time the automatic ranking down feature has been temporarily suspended; it was also turned off for a period in mid-2020.

This move is based on the actual situation in the Vietnamese League of Legends server, where most internet service establishments are still closed to comply with COVID-19 prevention regulations.
This has led to a significant number of gamers being unable to keep up with their ranking progress or unable to play for extended periods. In reality, not every gamer has a personal computer to play at home; moreover, many do not have a strong enough internet connection to play comfortably.

Therefore, in recent times, the Vietnamese League of Legends server has recorded a large number of accounts falling into a state of long-term “inactivity”. These accounts were still being ranked down, causing many gamers to feel confused and worried. Thus, the disabling of the automatic ranking down feature will help League of Legends players feel somewhat at ease, even when they are unable to log into the game for a long time.
At least they will not have to worry about their accounts being ranked down too deeply compared to their current rank, which could create difficulties and obstacles for their future ranking progress. This will allow them to have a stable mindset and feel more secure in adhering to the pandemic prevention regulations amidst the current complex developments.
