It has been about a week since the VCS organizers and Riot officially announced the final results of the investigation into one of the largest match-fixing scandals in the history of League of Legends in Vietnam, and indeed in the Esports scene in the S-shaped country. Not to mention, on a global scale, the VCS might be the first region to encounter such a major match-fixing case at the highest level of competition. Even in one of the regions notorious for match-fixing drama like the LPL, the tournament that faced penalties was LDL – a much lower tier than the main tournament.

However, the aftermath of the incident is still lingering, and particularly, the name that has been mentioned quite often since the penalties is a player who has not been particularly prominent lately. Specifically, that is F. – the former star of MGN Blue Esports. A few days ago, he shocked the VCS community by claiming that after the penalties are over, he would move to the LEC to compete. Recently, F. also made a noteworthy post.
Specifically, he hinted at a “teacher” figure who once assured that his students were completely innocent and had not engaged in any wrongdoing, even using a very unsanitary action to guarantee his words. Although he did not name anyone specifically, the community could easily guess who he was referring to.

However, F.’s post received a fierce backlash from the League of Legends community. Unlike the case of BeanJ, which has sparked much debate, F. subtly admitted his own involvement in wrongdoing. Meanwhile, Coach R. (who is also believed to be the person referred to in F.’s post) had placed a lot of trust in his students, which is why he made strong assurances about their innocence.
Yet, when F. has betrayed that trust, showing signs of “betraying his teacher” is simply unacceptable. In fact, in some of his sentences, F. even seemed to mock the League of Legends audience – including those who had previously believed in his innocence during the match-fixing drama.

For his part, Coach R. also made a very sharp rebuttal. He did not name anyone specifically in his post, but a quick read makes it clear who he was referring to. When F. appeared in the supplemental investigation list, Coach R. was very shocked. Now, his former student has expressed negative feelings towards him, and the former coach of SGB could not let it go.

Although neither side specifically mentioned names, through the information provided in the posts, the Vietnamese League of Legends community has clearly understood the issue. This is an unwanted situation, and in reality, we are witnessing a long-standing teacher-student relationship in the VCS facing the risk of permanent rupture.
