On the morning of April 30, the VCS community was stirred up. Specifically, this time it was another sanction announcement from the VCS that surprised many. At this point, the VCS Spring 2022 tournament has concluded. The content of this announcement is to sanction the DNS Gaming team – a team currently competing in the VCS Summer 2022 qualifiers and has made it to the top 4 teams. The violation pointed out by the VCS organizers in this announcement is that this team had “unofficial interactions with tournament operations members” to manipulate match results.

With the VCS Summer 2022 qualifiers attracting a lot of attention, as fans are eager to know which names will participate in the upcoming VCS Summer 2022, this incident is certainly of great concern to the League of Legends community in Vietnam. Furthermore, match-fixing is a serious offense in sports competitions, a taboo that any team or player must avoid. This is because it is an act of dishonesty and disrespect towards the audience.

However, on the afternoon of the same day, DNS had reactions to the incident. Specifically, on their personal page, a representative of DNS affirmed that their team plays cleanly and has not colluded with VCS officials to manipulate results as stated in the VCS organizers’ post. Additionally, he accused the VCS organizers of not providing clear evidence, stating that the email sent to DNS was extremely brief. At the same time, this individual also asserted that if the VCS organizers can provide evidence of DNS’s match-fixing, they are ready for confrontation.

This representative’s post was also shared in various League of Legends groups on social media, attracting significant attention from the VCS community. This is because, until now, when the VCS organizers announced penalties, it has usually been accurate. This is the first time a team has been willing to fight back so firmly.

However, as everything is still not entirely clear, and since the representative’s post, the VCS organizers have not made any statements. Therefore, VCS fans need to maintain the most neutral perspective, avoiding any one-sided information that could lead to negative judgments affecting the tournament, as well as teams, players, and individuals involved.
