On the afternoon of June 10th (Vietnam time), it was perhaps a very special day for fans of the LPL in particular and the League of Legends (LoL) community in general. The reason is that, after more than a year of resting since leaving Bilibili Gaming (BLG) before the Spring 2022 playoffs, Uzi has officially returned to the professional arena. This time, the team he has joined is the 2021 World Championship (Worlds) champion – Edward Gaming (EDG).

Undoubtedly, with his influence, the event of Uzi returning to the professional scene truly shook the entire LoL community. Previously, he had to play for BLG during a period when this team did not have the best roster. Meanwhile, EDG is on a rebuilding path, and their current players are also of high quality. Although Viper, Scout, and Flandre are no longer there, the substitutes have shown their capabilities to some extent. Uzi himself will fill the position left by Viper and Leave.

When Uzi returned, legendary figures from his era or those in the same league were also inadvertently mentioned. First and foremost is Faker. In the realm of LoL, perhaps only Uzi can be compared to Faker in terms of fame and influence within their respective regions. Although the two players compete in different positions, fans still hope Uzi can regain his form, secure a spot at Worlds 2023, and participate in the Asian Games to reunite with Faker.

Another name that was surprisingly brought up is SofM. Many fans may still remember that SofM was once included in the “five Eastern gods” of the LoL scene, alongside names like TheShy, Faker, Uzi, and MadLife. While MadLife has been retired for a long time, Uzi’s return leaves only TheShy and Faker, causing many to feel nostalgic. One fan remarked: “Faker and TheShy are still there, Uzi has returned. But the ‘rich guy’ (referring to SofM) and the ‘pulling saint’ may never make an appearance again.”

Legends come and go, but their achievements will last forever. No one can be sure that Uzi’s return will be successful. However, it does show that he is truly making a huge effort and has an intense passion for LoL – the game that has given Uzi everything, especially a career that many admire.
