Frontline – Legends
With a comprehensive offensive/defensive capability, the Frontline – Legends team emerged as one of the strongest compositions in the latter half of patch 11.4. With the inherent “tanky” nature of the Frontline units, combined with the high damage output from Neeko, this composition could ensure players a spot in the top 4. However, that is just a story of the past; the Frontline – Legends composition has been rated extremely low in patch 11.5.

With the nerf to the defensive stats of the Frontline system, they are no longer a solid shield for Neeko to comfortably deal damage. Furthermore, the reduced stun duration from Sejuani has significantly weakened this composition’s crowd control capabilities. This reveals the weakness of this composition, which heavily relies on “all-in” damage from Neeko. Just by using the Silent Cloak effectively, you can greatly limit the damage output of this composition.
Illumination
In patch 11.5, Riot made two significant adjustments aimed at reducing the power of the Illumination composition. First, they nerfed the amount of shield Janna provides to allies, then they removed Morgana’s ability to reduce magic resistance from her skill. This has led to a considerable reduction in the area damage of the Illumination composition. Moreover, the physical carry of this team – Talon no longer receives attack damage from Janna for a sufficient duration as the shield is too easily broken.

Essentially, the operation of the Illumination composition would have Morgana deal damage first and “soften” the opponents. Then, Talon’s job is to clean up the battlefield with his legendary “execute” ability. The nerf to Morgana’s damage output often leaves this composition lacking in damage in the late game. Perhaps players in Teamfight Tactics should only build this composition when they accidentally roll a Talon or Morgana.
Marksman – Spirit
With Riot Games increasing the roll rate for 3-cost champions at level 7, they had to nerf Sivir; otherwise, she would become incredibly overpowered. However, the decision to reduce her activation damage by 50 at 3-star level seems a bit harsh, making the Marksman – Spirit composition too weak. This forces players to rely entirely on rolling for Sivir to compensate for the lost damage.

Furthermore, only using the duo Aatrox – Sejuani in the frontline makes this composition more vulnerable than before. As mentioned earlier, Sejuani’s crowd control capabilities have been nerfed at 1-star and 2-star levels, giving enemy carries more time to deal damage. This is a significant disadvantage for the Marksman – Spirit composition, as it lacks enough strong frontline champions to protect its carries. With so many disadvantages, players should avoid using this composition to climb ranks in patch 11.5.
