Just a few hours ago, the reputable statistics site – Esports Charts announced the list of the top 10 most popular Esports organizations in 2020. The ranking criteria of Esports Charts are based on the total viewing hours from audiences for an organization during tournaments. This viewing time is calculated across live streaming platforms.

Accordingly, G2 Esports, with an impressive 92.8 million viewing hours, has become the most popular Esports organization in the world. In contrast, T1 only managed to secure the 9th position with 53.2 million viewing hours. This number for T1 has dropped nearly 19 million hours compared to 2019.

The main reason for T1’s drop in popularity lies in their failure to secure a spot at Worlds 2020. Remember, Worlds 2020 was one of the rare international tournaments held offline last year, thus attracting significant audience interest. Their absence from Worlds 2020 resulted in a substantial decline in T1’s viewing hours from the previous year.

Meanwhile, G2 Esports’ popularity soared as they maintained strong performances throughout 2020. In addition to winning the LEC Spring and Summer Championships, reaching the Semifinals of Worlds last year also helped this organization attract a large viewing audience.

Not only did their League of Legends team shine, but G2 Esports’ Rainbow Six Siege and CS:GO teams also achieved noteworthy success, significantly boosting their viewing hours. Besides their professional skills, G2 Esports’ ability to entertain across various games keeps them in the spotlight with audiences. It’s no surprise that G2 Esports became the most popular Esports organization of 2020.
