After a series of vibrant competitions, the League of Legends segment at EWC 2024 has officially crowned its champion. Accordingly, T1 delivered an outstanding Bo5 match and clinched this title after defeating TES with a score of 3-1. This championship is entirely deserved for Faker and his teammates as they triumphed over two LPL representatives in this tournament.

On the side of TES, this team also had a memorable tournament as all five players showcased extremely high performance. In fact, TES soared to such heights that they convincingly defeated the “King of LCK” known as Gen.G with a score of 2-0. Even after losing in the finals, TES still put on a relatively solid performance by taking the lead against T1 in the first game.

Perhaps due to placing too much expectation on this championship, the TES team expressed considerable disappointment after their defeat. In Tian’s case, he took to his personal Weibo page to assert that he would defeat T1 in their next encounter. However, LPL fans expressed dissatisfaction with Tian, claiming he was too “salty” following the recent loss. Some even pointed out a harsh statistic about Tian, suggesting he has no chance when facing T1 in a Bo5.

Indeed, looking back at Tian’s career, he has never won against an LCK representative in a Bo5 match. During the 2019 World Championship when Tian and FPX became champions, they did not face any LCK representatives in the knockout stage. As of now in the 2024 season, Tian and TES have also lost to both Gen.G (MSI 2024) and T1 (EWC 2024) in crucial Bo5 matches.

Not to mention that this year, the top representatives in LCK are showing extreme strength. Along with the top two teams, Gen.G and T1, other representatives like DK and HLE are also proving to be quite powerful. Therefore, whether facing T1 again or another LCK representative, it will be a tremendous challenge for Tian to seek “revenge”.

Fairly speaking, TES and Tian have shown quite a few positives after their journey at EWC 2024. However, this team still needs to put in a lot of effort in the future if they want to achieve good results in the LPL or even further at Worlds. If not, Tian’s losing streak against LCK representatives in Bo5 matches is likely to continue for the foreseeable future.
