Faker’s “Godly” Moment
Before the second semifinal of Worlds 2024, even the most optimistic and loyal T1 fans probably couldn’t imagine the result would be a resounding victory for their team. However, on a “magical” day, T1 achieved what the players and fans of this team had long waited for. Notably, Faker remained calm and composed enough to bring out Akali against Chovy and secure the win. In particular, Faker’s solo kill against Chovy showed that the mid-laner of Gen.G was clearly outclassed by his senior in this match.
Faker’s perfect moment against Chovy.
That was the moment that ended game 3, and Faker had not gone down at all prior, while Chovy was using the highly mobile champion Ahri. But with just a Zhonya’s Hourglass and a perfect combo, Faker shut down Chovy and completed his flawless solo kill. Perhaps even Chovy didn’t expect that his only death in this game would mark Gen.G’s defeat.

Faker Knows How to Shine, Chovy Does Not
In critical moments, Faker and his T1 teammates always make bold choices, and Akali is one of them. This champion has one of the lowest win rates in Worlds 2024, and Faker’s own performance with this champion has not been stable. However, in dire situations, Faker knows how to shine with his specialty champion.
In critical situations, T1 looks to the Mid Lane and they have Faker.
Meanwhile, Chovy was completely powerless. Chovy’s Ahri used to perform well, and even in the last game, Chovy was given Tristana. But Chovy’s Yordle champion could do little more than… push turrets. It can be said that when Gen.G needed a pillar, they turned to Kiin or Canyon rather than the player who was supposed to take on the most important carry role.
While Chovy did not.
T1 won in a highly convincing manner. But to let the match spiral out of control and end up with a bitter defeat in the Worlds 2024 semifinals, Gen.G needs to blame themselves, and perhaps Chovy will be the player who regrets the most.
