T1’s Disappointing Debut in the 2026 Regular Seasons
After the First Stand 2026 and a break, the LCK Regular Seasons 2026 officially returned to the anticipation of the League of Legends community in general and LCK in particular. And as the tournament, considered the most exciting in the world of League of Legends, made its return, surprising results started to emerge. Right on the opening day, T1 unexpectedly lost 0-2 to KT, and this time the reason did not stem from any individual, but rather T1 revealed its biggest weakness: disjointed gameplay.
In both games, T1 didn’t even show that they were a team that once placed top 4 in the 2026 LCK Cup, defeating teams like HLE and BNK in the group stage. In fact, if it weren’t for Doran taking advantage of the gap when KT concentrated all their forces on controlling the enemy’s map and failed to defend in time, T1 might not have secured even a single turret.
T1 played as if they were five solo queue players thrown together, and their individual ranks weren’t even that high. Only in game 2, when Faker truly awakened and made an effort, did T1 manage to put up a few skirmishes against KT. The rest was a completely one-sided match with total control belonging to the runner-up of the World Championship. Among them, PerfecT was the standout name, as he not only shut down Doran but also made the entire T1 lineup look like amateurs.
T1 Has a Lot of Work to Do
Clearly, T1 at the start of the season has always been a phenomenon that is very hard to explain as they fluctuate continuously. But it is rare, aside from periods of personnel instability, for this team to let a game slip away so easily as they did against KT yesterday afternoon, and that is a very concerning issue.
T1 will still be a formidable name and this is just the first round match. But the reigning champions have a lot of issues to resolve if they do not want to continue facing such meek defeats as they just experienced.
