A “dangerous” region in the professional League of Legends scene
Perhaps everyone understands that to compete professionally in any sport, whether traditional sports or Esports, requires athletes to have training time, becoming familiar from a young age or at least during their youth. In League of Legends, most current players exhibit their talent from the age of 13 to 14. However, recently, specifically for CBLOL, this region is facing many risks as in the future, no players under 18 will be allowed to access League of Legends anymore.
Specifically, according to the Online Child Protection Law (also known as the ECA Digital Law) that was passed in early 2026 in Brazil, children under 18 will not be permitted to access a series of Esports titles (mostly from Riot) such as League of Legends, Teamfight Tactics, Legends of Runeterra, or even Wild Rift and 2XKO. For VALORANT, children aged 12-17 in this country may play under parental supervision.

This can be seen as a “fatal” blow to CBLOL. This region faced many difficulties in 2025 when it was forced to merge with North America. With the passionate support of Brazilian fans, Riot allowed CBLOL to separate into its own region once again.
However, with such a challenging future, many fans envision that CBLOL will struggle to produce new talents, and the aforementioned Esports titles will gradually fade away in this famously enthusiastic region.

The situation in Brazil’s League of Legends is quite similar to LPL
Before the ECA Digital Law was passed, CBLOL was already a “lowland” region. In reality, the audience for League of Legends here is very passionate, and the infrastructure is heavily invested. However, the skill level of the players remains average. In the past, whenever VCS teams lost even one game to teams from CBLOL, it was considered an unacceptable failure.

But with this situation, it is quite difficult for young players to continue pursuing their passion for League of Legends in particular and other Riot games in general. Therefore, it is possible that in the future, CBLOL will fall even further behind where they are currently.
