As we know, on March 28 and 29, the VCS organizers and Riot made several important announcements regarding the negative allegations that have been weighing on the tournament, as well as the future of the VCS Spring 2024. Accordingly, the playoffs will consist of only 4 teams: GAM Esports, Team Whales, Team Secret, and Vikings Esports. Additionally, there are still 32 players under further investigation to strengthen the case before Riot and the VCS organizers make a final judgment.

Considering the list of 32 individuals suspected of being involved in negative activities, it can be understood that during the first investigation, these individuals did not provide convincing evidence to prove their complete innocence regarding any negative involvement. Alternatively, it is also possible that the VCS organizers and Riot might have enough evidence to charge them but still need to gather more persuasive evidence before making an official judgment. Recently, some netizens have drawn various “conspiracy theories” surrounding the incident.

Notably, among these conspiracy theories, some sound quite reasonable at first glance. Specifically, the teams are divided into three groups: the team appealing to the VCS organizers – Riot (Team Whales) will belong to the group waiting to resolve matters post-Spring. The second group consists of teams not participating and appealing (CERBERUS Esports, MGN Blue Esports…) which may allow player loans, and finally, teams like GAM Esports and Vikings Esports have yet to indicate they will appeal and are predicted to be facilitated by the VCS organizers and Riot to loan players, potentially proceeding to MSI 2024.

However, no one can confidently say that everything will unfold according to this script. For instance, if the team appealing to the organizers wins the championship, they may face disadvantages due to limited preparation time for MSI 2024. Additionally, if during the supplementary investigation, the players under suspicion reveal names considered innocent, the situation could become much more complicated.

On the other hand, one undeniable truth is that the supplementary investigation by Riot and the VCS organizers has only heightened suspicion in the hearts of the Vietnamese League of Legends community. In fact, on some forums, many viewers have inadvertently forgotten that the players on the list have not yet been charged and are essentially innocent until the VCS makes a final judgment. This could compel the VCS organizers and Riot to reconsider, as the longer the investigation drags on, the more the audience’s trust diminishes.

Ultimately, those who will suffer the most are the leaders of the teams, the innocent players, and the entire Vietnamese League of Legends community. Conspiracy theories will continue to emerge, but the audience must remain vigilant when consuming information, especially regarding a sensitive issue like the current drama surrounding the VCS.
