Revealing the Rare Player Praised by Faker and T1
Throughout MSI 2025 and later EWC 2025, many teams have delivered impressive performances. Alongside the absolute domination of Gen.G and T1’s unexpectedly strong display, even smaller teams or those not highly rated have made memorable showings. Notably, among them is HongQ – one of the youngest players in the tournament who even made Faker struggle when CFO faced T1.

In fact, during the mic check between the match against CFO, Faker himself had to voice his admiration for HongQ. Faker remarked: “These guys are playing quite well, especially HongQ. This guy is really great, especially in the laning phase.” Faker’s assessment was backed by Gumayusi and Oner. It can be said that the young star from LCP is the rare player, possibly the only one, to receive praise from Faker throughout MSI 2025 and EWC 2025.

HongQ is also one of the rare players in the minor region who truly challenges Faker
In recent years, age and injuries may have prevented Faker from showcasing the “godly” performances of his past. However, his ability to make plays remains strong, and very few players can completely outplay Faker in the laning phase. Yet, HongQ – a young player from a minor region – has truly managed to challenge Faker, which is a rare occurrence.

With what he has shown, HongQ’s future in LCP and League of Legends in general is very bright. In fact, he may become a hot prospect sought after by LPL teams in the next season. If he continues to develop in a good environment, the possibility of HongQ reuniting with Faker is entirely feasible.
