Arcane – the animated series produced by Riot Games, has taken the world by storm since its release in 2021. Based on the Runeterra universe of the game League of Legends, Arcane is a perfect blend of dramatic storytelling and artistic visuals. The series delves deep into the conflicts, emotions, and struggles of characters in two contrasting locations: the super city of Piltover and the underground world of Zaun.
Last November, the second part of Arcane officially premiered and quickly garnered massive attention from fans. The film continues to take viewers on a journey with two sisters, Jinx and Vi, following the events after Jinx attacks the city council headquarters of Piltover, leading to many exciting and thrilling developments. This is also the reason for the birth of the “Into The Arcane” event, becoming the largest offline festival of the year dedicated to the community of players of games developed by Riot Games and published by VNGGames in Vietnam.
The event offered fans the opportunity to immerse themselves in the vibrant Arcane universe, along with a series of exciting activities at booths for popular games such as League of Legends, League of Legends: Wild Rift, Teamfight Tactics, and VALORANT. Despite the weather not being favorable, the event attracted a large number of players who queued up early and joined in the atmosphere of the Arcane world. Over 7,000 gamers attended the festival, and 15,000 special Arcane-themed gifts and game codes were distributed.
Fans who love Arcane specifically, and games in general, were “treated” to an Esports atmosphere through intense and explosive matches from community tournaments such as the Arcane Cup (Teamfight Tactics), ARAM Cup Rhythm with Arcane (League of Legends), and Wild Rounds Vietnam (League of Legends: Wild Rift).
This was also an opportunity for Esports fans to meet the Vietnamese League of Legends teams participating in the upcoming LCP tournament, Secret Whales and MGN Viking Esports.
At the same time, players were immersed in the Arcane universe, dazzled by impressive Arcane character cosplays, meeting characters like Jinx, Vi, Caitlyn, Ekko, Mel, and Silco in real life, and enjoying the sweet dance of Powder and Ekko right at the event. Players also became a part of Arcane by participating in recreating challenges from the scenes of the Arcane series.
Notably, the Arcane universe featured appearances by famous faces in the gaming community such as caster Hoàng Luân, MC Mai Dora, MC Tạ Vy, Optimus, Noway, Hoa Nhật Huỳnh, Yuna, Lép the Little Kid, Thỏ MyMy, and even Coyote – an athlete who won a gold medal at SEA Games 31. All of these contributed to a hotter atmosphere at the Tan Binh Stadium over the past two days.
This event also marks the conclusion of the offline activities for League of Legends in 2024. This satisfying ending serves as motivation for Riot Games and VNGGames to continue their efforts in collaboration, creating exciting Esports playgrounds for players and setting the foundation for further development of the Esports market in Vietnam, bringing the best athletes and teams to international arenas, while seeking opportunities to host the most attractive Esports tournaments in Vietnam.
