When playing League of Legends, most players do not prefer ranged champions in the Top Lane. They have strong poke abilities, creating a lot of inconvenience for the opposing team. However, this group of champions can be easily exploited if the enemy jungler pays regular attention to the Top Lane. Therefore, most League of Legends players are not fond of ranged champions in the Top Lane, especially marksmen. They carry high risks and can easily become a burden for their team during the match.

The most “neglected” champion in the Top Lane is Vayne. She meets all the criteria mentioned: strong poke but can be easily taken down if the enemy jungler tends to her often. As a result, the League of Legends community worldwide has a “special” affection for those who use Night Hunter in the Top Lane.
However, recently, several players have discovered a unique yet highly effective build for Top Lane Vayne. This build focuses on survivability in team fights, dealing damage over time, and existing on the map for as long as possible. After being tested, many players around the world were also deeply impressed by this “unique” build.

Specifically, these players utilize a build that emphasizes on-hit effects combined with the lifesteal stats from the Kraken Slayer. The full item build for this path includes: Divine Sunderer + Guinsoo’s Rageblade + Runaan’s Hurricane + Kraken Slayer, with the last item depending on the match situation.
The characteristics of this item build are: good tankiness thanks to the bonus health, powerful on-hit effects, dealing area damage and strong lifesteal thanks to the total lifesteal stats. Players can lifesteal based on the true damage from Silver Bolts (W), increasing their survivability in team fights. Although Runaan’s Hurricane does not interact with the effect of ability W, the item will contribute additional damage in team fights with its bolts spreading to other targets.

Returning to the main issue, most players will wonder about the use of Kraken Slayer. Vayne has no skills that interact with ability power, so why use Kraken Slayer instead of Divine Sunderer? The reason is that Kraken Slayer has the ability to increase damage the longer it remains in combat, fitting with the playstyle when building this way. However, players should not use Kraken Slayer too early; ensure the items are built in the order of Divine Sunderer, Guinsoo’s Rageblade, and Runaan’s Hurricane.

This build style is only suitable for Top Lane Vayne and is not compatible with the marksman position. The reason lies in the role of each position; marksmen need to ensure damage output, so the conventional on-hit effect build is more appropriate for them.
