In the history of League of Legends, many champions have been released, with the count reaching 175 as of September 2, 2023. The latest name to join Summoner’s Rift is Briar – a champion with a strong healing kit, related to vampires and hailing from Noxus. Of course, Briar will not appear in the upcoming 2023 World Championship due to Riot’s special rules.

Additionally, Briar is also a new female champion from Riot. For their game, Riot has always shown a special preference for female champions, as these characters are almost always released each year. In fact, there have been times when Riot only released female champions. Furthermore, these champions are equipped with the most polished skins, in terms of both graphic design and animations, as well as accompanying effects. However, the LoL community has pointed out a female champion class that Riot has never designed: female champions with pulling skills (like Thresh or Blitzcrank).

In fact, the female champion type that can use skills on opponents and pull them to a different position has existed in League of Legends, with the most recent being Renata Glasc and previously Taliyah (her ability can push opponents closer). However, as mentioned, neither Renata nor Taliyah can be considered a proper pulling skill compared to Blitzcrank or Thresh. Additionally, Illaoi can pull the spirit of an opponent, while Kalista can pull and drop allies through her ultimate – Fate’s Call. However, in reality, Illaoi cannot pull the actual form of the opponent, and Kalista can only use the skill on allies.

According to many opinions, a female champion with a pulling skill could add excitement to Summoner’s Rift, while also being a counter to Blitzcrank, Thresh, or Nautilus. However, there is also an opinion that is supported: “In reality, Riot probably thinks that champions with pulling skills like Thresh or Blitzcrank are already sufficient. Many female champions have skills that pull opponents to a specific position and there is no need for another female champion who can use Rocket Grab (Blitzcrank) or Death Sentence (Thresh).”

It is possible that in the future, Riot will introduce more new champions. However, the existence of a female champion with a proper pulling skill may remain just a theory and desire of League of Legends players.
