The Gumayusi – Deokdam Duo Has a Surprising Commonality
In just a few days, the most anticipated League of Legends final will take place between T1 and KT. Perhaps no one could have imagined that in the end, the two names appearing in the finals would recreate a “telecom war,” especially when looking at their performance throughout the past year. Notably, both Gumayusi and Deokdam – the two AD Carries from each side, share a commonality: they have both faced extreme doubts and had to sit on the bench.

Specifically, at the beginning of the season, KT had been continuously rotating its lineup, and Deokdam at that time was not performing well, so he had to give way to Padduck from the KT Challengers team. In fact, Support Peter hardly played any matches in the LCK Cup and had to make way for Way. On the other side, as we know, after just 2 BO3 matches (1 win – 1 loss), Gumayusi had to make way for Smash until the end of the LCK Cup and for several matches in Regular Season Rounds 1-2.
However, there is one difference in this story, which is that Deokdam was still able to compete regularly in the LCK CL afterwards. Meanwhile, when benching Gumayusi, T1’s management pushed Guti into the AD Carry position, who was originally a mid-laner, and later promoted Cypher. Thus, Deokdam was still able to compete, while the story of Gumayusi turned into endless drama and controversy regarding how T1’s management treated the AD Carry who had won 2 World Championship titles.

Gumayusi – Deokdam: The Battle of the Present and Future
In the upcoming showdown, the roles of Gumayusi and Deokdam are incredibly important. Whichever side gains the advantage in the Bottom Lane and can deal damage will have a significant edge. In previous confrontations, Gumayusi often came out on top, but he cannot be complacent as Deokdam is currently in great form.

This battle also serves to affirm the value of the players, as well as to completely end all doubts about them from the beginning of the season until now and to aim for an even brighter future.
