Amid the drama, the “Chosen One” has turned the words of T1’s CEO into a “laughingstock”
According to the latest controversial comments from T1’s CEO circulating on various social media platforms, the decision by T1’s coaches to choose Smash to replace Gumayusi was based on the good performance of this player. When suggested by the coaching staff for testing, Smash “impressed” enough for T1 to continue using him in the Regular Seasons, effectively turning T1 into a six-man roster. However, in reality, Smash’s performance almost completely contradicts the CEO’s claims.

Initially, many viewers were astonished by the number of kills Smash achieved. This indeed helped his KDA (Kill/Death/Assist) stats look incredibly good, even better than Viper or Ruler, the AD carries who participated in the finals of the 2025 LCK Cup. However, these numbers become ironic when considering Smash’s overall performance and cannot be labeled as an “impressive display.”

Specifically, Smash’s damage conversion rate and damage dealt percentage are extremely low, even lower than Deokdam. Additionally, despite having a high minion count, Smash’s DPM (Damage Per Minute) is low. This indicates that this AD carry can only “farm” effectively and lacks a strong laning phase. He fails to trouble opponents and even in team fights, he does not show anything aside from… securing kills.

Furthermore, even in the matches that T1 won, Smash’s performance was merely acceptable, particularly when he used champions like Kai’Sa or Zeri. It must be emphasized: Gumayusi’s “weak champion” – Ezreal – in Smash’s hands, a player who many viewers believe plays Ezreal better than Gumayusi, ended up with a 0% win rate in 2 games. One of these was against the weaker team KT.
In addition, in the match against HLE, even though T1 managed to push it to game 5, it was thanks to the absolutely outstanding performance of Faker – Oner in game 4. Oner’s near-perfect 50-50 punishments set the foundation for T1 to rise above HLE in that crucial match.

Now, anything can happen with T1
Clearly, Smash’s performance, to put it mildly, has “betrayed the trust of the T1 coaching staff,” but to be blunt, it would be a strong “slap” to the very statements of the CEO. However, at this moment, T1 has made its choice. Therefore, fans of this team should prepare for any scenario that may arise, rather than continuing pointless and endless arguments that hold little significance.
