The Best LPL Roster of 2024 Revealed, A Controversial Name Sparks Heated Debate

The “All-Star” Roster of LPL Sparks Controversy

Just a few days ago, the LPL All-Star 2024 award ceremony officially took place to honor the achievements and contributions of players in this region. With BLG dominating the LPL throughout the 2024 season, many believed that all 5 players from this team would make it onto the All-Star roster. However, the actual results differed slightly as alongside Bin, Xun, Knight, and Elk, the Support player honored at the LPL All-Star 2024 was Meiko.

The All-Star roster of LPL 2024 includes: Bin - Xun - Knight - Elk - Meiko

This surprising result has sparked significant controversy within the LPL community in recent days. The reason stems from Meiko’s lackluster performance in the past season and not winning any major titles. In fact, while playing for TES in the 2024 season, Meiko ended up with no titles at all. Furthermore, TES with Meiko also faced humiliating defeats, such as losing to G2 0-3 at MSI 2024 and falling to T1 with the same score at Worlds.

As a result, many viewers following the award ceremony protested the results of the LPL All-Star 2024 voting. They argued that it was quite unreasonable for a player with no titles and a dull performance throughout 2024 like Meiko to be voted into the best roster. Many believe Meiko was chosen due to his large fanbase and the fame from his 2021 Worlds championship.

Ruler Continues to Speak Out on Sensitive Incident

“So you all chose Meiko, who didn’t stand out at all this past year and lost 0-3 to both G2 and T1 as Support of the year?” – A viewer commented sarcastically
“He (Meiko) has stolen this title twice now. Back in 2022, he performed worse than Missing all year but still won” – Another gamer shared
“Let’s talk about overall performance, team fighting skills, and individual play; how can Meiko be compared to ON this year?” – Another player agreed
Meiko and His Challenging Journey in LPL

Indeed, looking back at 2024 for Meiko, it can be seen as a failed season as he did not achieve any titles or notable performances. Meiko himself likely understands this, which is why he left TES and joined a completely new team called IG. With a roster full of famous stars, IG is considered the new “super team” of LPL, and the pressure on the players will undoubtedly be immense.

Furthermore, the strong teams in the LPL have made significant roster changes, making it an extremely challenging task for IG to conquer this tournament. Naturally, on the flip side, the IG team (including Meiko) will need to work very hard to prove their strength. If Meiko can perform excellently and help IG secure several titles, he could convincingly become the “Best Support in LPL” next season, much more so than this year.
